Meet Chava Kronen, Housing Specialist. Chava has worked for HSOLC for 20+ years. Her dedication to helping others and serving as a resource for anyone in need is one of the many exceptional qualities she brings to our communities, colleagues, and HSOLC families. She is a strong advocate for equality and justice for all living beings, and as she says, “if there were a school for pets, I would enroll them”!

Are you a parent? Were you or are you a HS/EHS parent?

Yes, I am a parent to a really cute rescue dog, Rosie and two cats. Daisy, a torti, emerged as a 4-week-old kitten from under the play shed at Main Street Head Start about 13 years ago. Tuffy, another torti, is a neighborhood rescue. If there was a Head Start for pets, I would enroll them immediately.

Are you from Oregon?

Born in Hollywood, CA, and moved to Oregon in 1987. I have never looked back.

What would you tell a parent about HSOLC that they really should know?

I do tell parents that HSOLC is the best place for their family as we support the whole family. I would tell them to take advantage of all the parent events and classes offered. The teaching team and support staff will be their cheerleaders as they pursue their own goals. Their children will get a wonderful education as well.
